THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in Hampshire today.

It says that outbreaks of rain, heavy at times with a risk of thunder, are expected during the day giving a risk of “local accumulations in excess of 20 or 30 mm and possible localised surface water flooding where the heaviest rain occurs”.

Rain has already started to fall across Hampshire, including in Romsey town centre.

The warning is in place from 9am until 8pm.
