A ROMSEY landmark is planning to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday with three days of events.
Romsey Abbey will be holding an ice cream tour of the Abbey with specially made ice cream to celebrate the longest reigning monarch’s milestone.
From 7.30pm on Friday, June 10 there will be a tour of the Abbey focusing on its royal connections.
The next day will see flag-waving as the Michelmersh Silver Band perform patriotic music for Proms in the Abbey, atagainst 7.30pm. It will culminate in a Last Night of the Proms-style finale. On Sunday, June 12 after the 10am service which will be attended by civic and community leaders there will be a community picnic on the north church yard.
All of the nine schools in the parish will be putting on an exhibition with each school taking a decade of her life to create a timeline around the abbey.
