SNOW has swept across the county bringing a hazy shade of winter to the spring skies.

A two minute show shower was seen in Romsey town centre before the sun shone through the grey clouds reminding people it was April.

The unusual weather was not forecast by the Met Office, who had expected today to be mostly cloudy with sunny spells and some rain at around 4pm. Temperatures were expected to be between 5C (41F) and 9C (48.2F).

Pete Speirs, president of Romsey Chamber of Commerce, said on Twitter: “Can’t believe we’ve just had a two-minute shower in Romsey.”

Basingstoke Gazette:

Further abroad, the white stuff was spotted in Titchfield by the team at Wessex Haven, which provides support and complementary treatments for people with cancer.

Fundraiser Heidi Rehman said they had bright blue skies along with the snow.

The team tried to snap a photo but the snow did not show in the image.

Now the county is on snow watch as people across Hampshire peer out of their windows to see if it has drifted their way.

And the Romsey Advertiser is looking for your photos.
