REBECCA FERGUSON has cancelled her Southampton concert that was part of an extensive UK tour.

The show that had been due to take place at the 02 Guildhall on February 18 has not been re-scheduled and anyone who has bought tickets is being given a refund.

The tour was to promote her last album 'Lady Sings The Blues', which went straight into the top 10.

But now most of the shows on the 20 date UK tour have been moved to the autumn and it seems there are no plans to play Southampton.

The singer from Liverpool was the runner up of X Factor 2010 where she was beaten by Southampton-born Matt Cardle, but knocked One Direction in to third place. Her debut album, 'Heaven', went on to sell more than one million copies.

The other cancelled dates are Oxford, Blackpool and Plymouth.

Due to the Christmas holidays, no one from Southampton 02 Guildhall was available to comment.

The former X Factor star broke the news via her Facebook page.

On it she explains she is too busy with her new album: "I hope you are all good. I have been working on my new album and it is sounding great!

"I am so pleased with how it's all going. It's almost complete; I can’t wait for you to hear it and to perform it live.

"I have made the decision to change the dates for my tour and focus on getting the album ready!

"I know this will be an inconvenience for a lot of my fans as you were excited to see me...It’ll be a great show... and worth the wait I think you'll really like my new music I certainly hope so anyway..."

Disappointed fans have placed messages on her Facebook page.

Sarah Ward said: "I'm so disappointed you have cancelled. It was my sister's birthday and we were really looking forward to hearing you.

John Hilton commented: "Absolute joke. Rescheduled for 10 months ahead. No thank you. Rowing with Ticketmaster for a full refund who aren't keen to repay the postage and now want me to spend more sending the useless tickets back registered post before they'll process the refund. Beyond poor. I hope everyone is very wary about booking for you again if you're just too busy."

Graeme McInnes said: "Pity you never thought more of your fans, your cancellation for Glasgow in February will cost a lot of people a lot of money in lost accommodation and travel costs, not all your fans live in Glasgow."

Jane Howell commented:"Disgusted !! So your busy ???? - aren't we all. "Luckily the fab people at Bridgewater Hall will give me a full refund ( fantastic venue by the way) with freepost but this was a birthday gift for my husband so now it's useless."

So far, the singer has not responded to any of the comments.
