KING’S Somborne Primary has bid farewell to its caretaker who retired after more than 60 years linked with the school.
Marjorie Tubby, born in 1942, attended King’s Somborne Primary School as a child, only to return as an adult in 1972 when she worked as a stand-in dinner lady and caretaker assistant.
In 1973 she went on to become a kitchen helper.
Then in 1976, when the caretaker became ill she filled that role and continued as a caretaker/cleaner until her retirement/ Marjorie now hopes to be able to devote more time to her hobbies of knitting, embroidery, lace making, crochet and and other arts and craftwork.
