Romsey Abbey celebrates Motherhood this Sunday.
The morning Eucharist, at 10am, marks Mothering Sunday, and will give thanks for mothers, grandmothers and important women in our lives. Each year, the Mothers’ Union makes over 300 posies to present to mums and grandmothers in the congregation.
“Mothering Sunday is a really important day in the church,” said the vicar, the Rev Tim Sledge.
“It’s an opportunity to raise the profile and to pamper our mums! Too often, when I ask people what they do, they say to me: ‘I’m just a mum’. Parenting is often a delight and often challenging. Today gives us a chance to say thank you.”
As always, refreshments are served after the service in the church rooms – by the men!
