Gearing up for Boxing Day classic

AROUND 1,000 classic vehicles are expected to converge on Romsey for the traditional Boxing Day show.

This year’s Classic Car and Bike meet is the twelfth annual show organised by Romsey hairdresser Steve Biddlecombe and it gets under way at 9am.

Since its early days, the show’s popularity has grown significantly and it’s now staged in three car parks - Aldi, Romsey Bus Station and the Crosfield Hall - to accommodate classic car and bike exhibits.

Exhibits at the show, which runs until 1pm, will include pre-1976 European cars, bikes and trucks and American hotrods and custom-built pre-1996 vehicles.

Steve said that entry is free but there will be a bucket for donations which will go to the Prostate Cancer Charity.

He is urging residents living near the Aldi, Bus Station and Crosfield Hall car parks not to leave their cars at these sites on Christmas Day night because show exhibitors will be arriving early Boxing Day to set up.

Parking for show visitors will be at the Alma Road, Newton Lane, Romsey Library in Princes Road and Duttons Road car parks.
