AN INTERNATIONAL clothing chain has dropped its plans to open a shop in Romsey’s Hundred.

Fat Face, that has more than 190 stores in the UK and others worldwide, confirmed this week that it has abandoned its plans to open a branch at Stead and Simpson’s former shoe shop.

However, the company hasn’t ruled out opening a store in Romsey altogether.

A Fat Face spokesperson said: “We have decided not to progress with this particular opportunity in Romsey at the present time. However, we remain interested in Romsey and will continue to monitor opportunities in the future.”

The clothing giant refused to reveal the reasons why it has decided not to pursue its plans for the former shoe shop
