Carnival announces autumn events
11:00am Monday 9th September 2013 in News
ROMSEY Carnival officials are putting the finishing touches to the organisation’s events for the remainder of the year.
First up on the calendar is David Wilson Homes sponsored Autumn Quiz Night at Romsey Comrades Club on September 25 and the event starts at 8pm. Entry is £5 per team of four.
On November 20 there will be another quiz night at the same venue and time and it will be all eyes down on November 21 with a carnival bingo night at the Crosfield Hall. Bingo starts at 8pm.
But the last big event of the year is Romsey Winter Carnival Parade on Saturday November 23 and the same evening the town’s Christmas lights will be turned on.
Carnival spokesman Pete Lomer said the Winter Carnival procession is scheduled to assemble at the Crosfield Hall car park from 5.30pm for judging.
However, he said that if weather conditions are bad, pedestrians taking part in the parade will able to use the Crosfield Hall itself.
The parade is due to leave the Crosfield Hall at 6.15pm and then head for the Market Place and arrive in time for the festive lights switch-on.
Entry forms for the carnival procession can be obtained from the Romsey Advertiser office, the Carnival website or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
