Don’t let conman get the drop on you...

AN armed forces charity is warning people to be on the lookout for conmen after police reports of a man trying to obtain cash from Romsey residents.

The fraudster claimed he was doing a parachute jump in aid of Help for Heroes.

One resident of Tadburn Green alerted police after he asked where the charity jumper lived and was given false information.

A Help for Heroes spokesman said: “The fraudulent theft of donations that have been given to support injured members of the armed forces and veterans is unforgiveable. Thankfully such acts are very rare, so please do keep on donating in charity boxes. If you would like to contact us about fundraisers, please contact us on 01980 846459.” Anyone who has information about the conman is asked to contact PC Francis at Romsey police station on 101.
