4D cinema adds extra dimension to Paultons
Paulton’s Park is set to unveil a new £1.5m attraction.
A red-carpet style event is being planned at the popular theme park at Ower to mark the opening of a state-of-the-art 150-seat 4D cinema.
The new theatre will give thrill-seekers an all-round movie experience with a 3D film action on the big screen, combined with specially-designed moving chairs, water sprays, blasts of air, leg ticklers, bubbles and even snow.
The feature film will take families on an adventure to the high seas with Captain Scabb on a swashbuckling adventure to find the legendary treasure of Skull Rock.
Audiences will feel the sea spray, peer through the eerie mist and ride the high rolling waves, exploring the depths of the bubbling ocean in what is described as a “sense-tingling 4D family adventure.”
The film itself has already won acclaim after it was crowned winner of the Best Children’s Animated Film award at the prestigious Stuttgart Film Festival.
Commercial director of Paultons Park, Stephen Lorton, said: “The 4D cinema is a great new addition to the park for the 2013 season.
“We continually aim to improve the customer experience at Paultons Park, with more than 60 rides and attractions for all ages; the 4D cinema provides fantastic indoor entertainment for the whole family.”
Paultons 4D cinema premieres on March 23 with a special red carpet event.
The attraction will be the newest at the park that saw the opening of the first Peppa Pig world in 2011 that has since proved an international draw for the park.
