Tavern backs dad’s cause
9:00am Tuesday 19th February 2013 in Romsey
A Romsey man who has lost two sons to cystic fibrosis is staging a charity evening to raise funds for reseach into the disease.
Paul Crawford’s sons Carl, 18, and Richard 26, both died from the disease which affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick mucus which makes it hard to breathe and digest food.
Now Paul, 51, is organising a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at his local pub, The Tavern, in Romsey on March 9.
The event will feature live music from The Doghouse Boatboys plus a raffle and auction. Among the auction lots donated is a hamper of Saints merchandise and there are also signed Chelsea and West Ham shirts.
Tickets priced £5 are available from the pub.
