WHITCHURCH residents have the chance to touch a rock that is travelling the length and breadth of Britain before it comes to a rest across the water.

The British Rock – a piece of Preseli bluestone – arrived at the Millennium Meadow, in Winchester Road, Whitchurch, this month. And on Saturday, 15 September people were invited to touch it before the rock makes its way to the International Peace Garden, in North America.

The journey is being coordinated by the Friendship Circle and the local event by member Graham Burgess, who wants residents to touch the rock as a symbol of human friendship.
