Air ambulance attends light aircraft crash near Popham

THE Thruxton-based air ambulance was called to the scene of a light aircraft crash near Popham airfield close to the A303 today.
Police and Fire and Rescue crews were called to an area of woodland just south of the airfield near the busy trunk road just before 3pm..
Both people in the light aircraft suffered serious and possibly life-threatening injuries, said Hampshire Constabulary.
One of the men was taken by the air ambulance to Southampton while the other was conveyed by road.
The men are aged 44 and 60 years of age.
