Party in the Park

Party in the Park Party in the Park

A HUGELY successful Party in the Park took place in Vigo Recreation Ground on Saturday.

Now in its third year the event, which was launched by the Mayor of Test Valley Councillor Dorothy Baverstock, featured live music, entertainment and activities for all to enjoy and raised around £1,000 for the Fusion Youth Project.

As well as face painting, a fun fair, welly wanging and magic for the kids, there was also a craft tent, bar and delicious hog roast plus excellent performances from several bands and Dance to Fitness.

Anji Gillies, organiser, said: “It went really, really well.

“We raised about a grand and hopefully a bit of awareness about Fusion.

“The kids from Fusion were fantastic. A lot of them helped from morning until night and showed themselves to be a really good lot.

“There was lots of fun stuff for the kids while the adults could watch the live music.

“I would like to thank all the kids at Fusion because they did do really well, the people that came on the day, the Mayor Councillor Dorothy Baverstock, Paul Jeans and anyone that had anything to do with it.

“Everybody that was there was donating their services for free including UK Wide Solutions Security and Andover Transport who gave us the trailers.”
