LUDGERSHALL Garden Club enjoyed a successful presentation of flowers, vegetables and handicrafts at its annual show held in the Memorial Hall on Saturday.

The show recorded a strong number of entries in all categories including the junior classes as competitors young and old got involved.

Elizabeth Bament collected a number of trophies for her entries and was the top point scorer in the show while 10-year-old Louise Mears and 8-year-old Thomas Kirwan produced prize winning displays.

Brian Jarrett, a member of the organising committee for the show said: “Entries overall were up on last year despite the vegetable class being down due to the poor growing season. The handicrafts section was well supported and to a very high standard.

“The people viewing the exhibits were very pleased at the general atmosphere, all in all it was a first rate show well worth all the effort that was put in.”
