Band on a winning streak

A COUPLE of months after Andover Town Band won their first ever contest as a senior band, there are new trophies for the band's cabinet at Mitutoyo's premises on Portway Business Park, Andover.

This time it was the Andover Town Band's training band - comprising 20 players under-18, three adult learners and just three experienced adult players.

They won Best Training Band at the annual Wessex Youth and Training Band contest held at Trafalgar School, Downton, beating seven local bands along the way. They also won Best Band Overall and Best Performance Of A Hymn Tune.
