Young musicians from Test Valley compete for music gongs

TEST Valley Brass Youth and Training bands travelled to the Trafalgar School in Downton on Saturday to compete in the youth section and training band section of the Wessex Brass Band Association Youth and Training Band Contest.

This was the band’s first contest for just over two years and many of the players had never taken part in a contest before, and were also under a new conductor.

This year’s contest attracted one of the biggest number of bands ever with eight in the training band section alone.
