A RECORD number of visitors and Britain’s top businesswoman made Andover Business Expo 2010 a huge success.
The event brought business people from across the region to The Lights for a day of networking, seminars, an interactive business forum and an inspirational presentation by soccer club saviour and Sir Alan Sugar’s new right-hand woman Karren Brady.
Almost 50 stands showcased the diversity of business in the area, with special offers and competitons adding a fun element.
A packed auditorium was treated to an insight into the world of Karren Brady, who has been a positive driving force in British business and sport for some 20 years, and her thoughts and advice were extremely well received.
The business forum, compered by Ian Axton of Andover Sound, brought together a panel consisting of North Hants Chamber of Commerce chairman Les Savins, TVBC economic development officer David Gleave, Ben Holloway of Business Link, Giles Bevan-Thomas, a partner with solicitors Parker Bullen, Jon Stannah, MD of Stannah Lift Services and Joe Scicluna, editor of the Andover Advertiser, for a brisk exchange of ideas on the future of business growth in the town.
Forum organiser Ed Thomas, joint MD of TWA Creative and Marketing, was delighted with the day. “It’s gone marvellously, “ he said.
“It’s been bigger and better than last year and has been a superb showcase of business in Andover. It’s been a great place for companies to come and see what’s available.”
