AN Andover woman and her dog are celebrating a triumphant win at the world famous DFS Crufts competition at the weekend.
Danielle Jones, aged 22, and her six-year old Groenendael Belgian Shepherd, Dante, scooped first place in the 17 to 24-year-old Handling category at the Young Kennel Club ring.
The Pilgrims Way resident first won the award when she was 17-years-old and was thrilled to get her hands back on the prize.
Dante was among 28,000 healthy, happy dogs at Crufts presented by the Kennel Club and Miss Jones couldn’t hide her delight at his success.
“I am over the moon to have won, it is such an honour,” said Danielle – who works as a nursery nurse in Tidworth.
“And it makes it a bit more special that this is my second time.
“To go so long without winning then to win again is such a great feeling because you really feel like you have earned it.
“I love coming to Crufts. It is such a massive thing for us and we love being here so to win something makes it that extra bit special. Dante did so well and was very well behaved so I am very proud of him.”
