WESTBOUND traffic on the A303 will be reduced to one lane for several hours today following an incident near Cowdown Lane in the early hours of this morning.

The driver of a 7.5 tonne white Mercedes box van lost control of the vehicle, which ended up on its side against the crash barrier.

The 31-year-old Polish driver was not injured.

The van had to be recovered, and lanes were closed in both directions while this took place.

East bound lanes were opened at 6.15am.

A substantial amount of damage was caused to the crash barrier, and one westbound lane will remain closed during repairs.
