WRITERS in Andover are encouraged to put pen to paper this month with three different events taking place.
Sally Startup and Catherine Randle, founder members of Andover's Razbecks Writers, will be displaying poems by the Razbecks all over Andover on 9 October to coincide with National Poetry Day.
On 15 October it's Razbecks' Free Expressions evening at The Lights with an open microphone for writers and other performers to have a go.
On 21 October Razbecks is hosting a writers' evening at The Lights with Sally teaching a session on story-writing.
Writers can also opt to receive a written critique and personal advice on work submitted in advance. Details and application forms are available from Andover Tourist Information Office or by emailing info@beesnestbooks.co.uk Of the first event Catherine said: "We hope to get every business in town displaying a poem. This year the poems are by Razbecks writers. If this year's project is a success next year, we want to run a competition to include anyone who wants to see their poetry in print."
Sally added: "We want to encourage anyone who's always wanted to have a go at writing a story or a novel."
