ICKNIELD School in Andover was presented with a brand new 16-seater minibus after a year of fundraising and seeking sponsorship.

The new Sunshine Coach was bought from the children's charity Variety Club and two celebrity representatives of the charity visited the school to make the presentation more of an event.

Tom Butcher, from The Bill and Casualty, and Corinne Wicks, from BBC soap Doctors, were thrilled to be a part of the special day and happy to pose for pictures with some of the pupils.

The new minibus will allow the school to plan more trips for the pupils in a more reliable mode of transport.

"Our old minibus was looking a bit old and tired and having done 100,000 miles it was getting less and less reliable," said deputy headteacher Adrian Wylie.

"The children were delighted to meet the celebrities and are really excited to have this new bus here for them to use.

"It has given us a real boost with the opportunity to plan days out to further away places."
