Andover firefighters tackled a blaze in Broughton on Friday afternoon after a combine harvester caught alight.

Crews descended on the village after the huge inferno spread across eight hectacres of field.

This is the second large fire in the area this week - after fields behind Test Valley School went up in smoke on Tuesday night.

Andover Fire Station said: "Crews from Andover Fire Station were mobilised at approx 1300 to a fire in the open in Broughton.

"This turned out to be a combine harvester well alight, which had subsequently set alight to 8 hectares of field.

"Our Water Carrier Appliance and our P7 Fire Appliance were sent.

"Thank you to Romsey Fire Station for helping us cleanup."
