TWO Andover schoolchildren are preparing to hold an eco-friendly evening tomorrow.
Erin Hacker and Hannah Bradwell, of Rookwood School, have invited town retailers to their Plant-for-the-Planet 'Chocolate & Trees' event at the Guildhall tonight from 6pm until 7.30pm.
The 14-year-old climate justice ambassadors will be giving presentations, with question and answers, discussions and a chocolate taste test.
There will also be drinks and canapés available on arrival.
Erin said: "Plant-for-the-Planet is a children’s run United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) which raises awareness of the climate crisis through planting trees.
"As ambassadors ourselves, we train other children to become ambassadors – there are now over 200 of us in Andover – supported locally by Andover Trees United. We are all aged 9 to 14.
"As children, we rely upon the adults in our community to support our work; as local retailers and entrepreneurs we need your help with a particular challenge we face.
"We hope the community of andover and the shopkeepers wil come and support us."
