Andover’s Nepalese community celebrated their biggest festival of the year, Dashain, joined by North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse on Saturday.

The festivities at Wolvedene Hall saw music, dancing and food for the most important celebration in the Nepalese calendar which lasts 15 days.

As the home of Army Headquarters, Andover has a thriving Nepalese community owing to the service of many Nepalese in the British Armed Forces’ Gurkha Regiment.

Mr Malthouse said: “The food was delicious and the company was great. I am very pleased that they invited me along.”

The MP was also joined by county councillor Andrew Gibson and mayor of Test Valley in the celebrations.
