PLANS to convert a 150-year-old chapel near Andover into a home have been withdrawn.
Trevaskis Design Solutions submitted proposals to Test Valley Borough Council in July to turn the former Primitive Methodist Chapel in Wildhern into a new home.
But as of Thursday, 31 August, the design consultancy has withdrawn the plans.
According to the original proposals the former place of worship, which dates back to the early 1800s, has been used as a store room for “many years”.
The Hampshire Archive has records of a Wildhern Methodist group dating back as far as 1818 but records from the Andover Circuit of Primitive Methodists, which was formed in 1837, shows a first mention of a chapel in 1872.
The final service was held in the church in July 2007 and it had previously been used as a village hall until a new one was built a short distance away.
