A QUARTER of a century of supporting business women across the borough was celebrated in glittering style with a black tie dinner dance.

Andover Women in Business' 25th anniversary celebration was held at The Museum of Army Flying on Friday, June 2.

The group was formed in 1992 after an advert was placed in the Advertiser inviting female professional, managers and entrepreneurs to joins a networking club for the Andover district.

AWIB has since gone from strength to strength and now provides a networking platform and support group for dozens of women across the Test Valley.

Founding and present members of the club attended the three-course dinner and dance along with guests for the evening, Mayor of Test Valley Cllr Carl Borg-Neal and leader of Hampshire County Council, Cllr Roy Perry.

Andrea Barry, president of AWIB, said: "This has been a wonderful celebration of a group of business women and entrepreneurs who don't just network; they provide incredible support to one another and develop collaborations and friendships.

"This was a fitting tribute to all those marvellous women, businesses, organisations, partners, husbands and supporters who have contributed to the club over the past 25 years. It was a joyous and fitting occasion and we had a great deal of fun, which is what being part of AWIB is all about."
