POLICE have launched an appeal after a pensioner was robbed at knifepoint in an Andover park.

Officers say an 84-year-old was forced to hand over £400 in cash and a gold Rolex watch after he was threatened by two men at King George Road playing fields on Tuesday 6 June.

Police say the victim was attacked by two black males, both described as 5ft8ins and in their 20s, sometime between 12.45pm and 1.10pm.

The pensioner had recently got off the bus on King George Road when he was punched to the floor and threatened with a knife.

He handed over his valuables to the men, who then ran off.

The victim sustained bruising to his right cheek and ear in the robbery.
