TWO teenagers, including one from Andover, have been arrested following an attempted robbery in Andover last week.

Three males with scarves across their faces approached a 16-year-old boy as he walked through Andover Cemetery between 5.45pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, November 23.

One of them punched him in the stomach and then the face.

The other two males then tried to remove the victim’s rucksack.

When they were not able to, they ran off towards the town centre.

One male wore a grey hoodie and jogging bottoms and the other two wore black puffa-style jackets.

Two 16-year-old boys, one from Basingstoke and one from Andover, have been arrested in connection with this incident.

Both have been bailed until Tuesday, February 7 next year.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

PC Susanna Robinson, of Basingstoke CID, said: “If you noticed anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant you believe it to be, please contact us as soon as possible.”
