AN ANDOVER teenager has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Basingstoke.

The 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with wounding with intent, following the incident at Basingstoke bus station on Sunday 27 November.

He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on January 3, 2017.

Police were called to the bus station in Churchill Way at 12.07pm yesterday afternoon having received reports of an assault on a 22-year-old man.

The man was stabbed in the upper back, between the shoulder blades, by a short bladed implement.

The 22-year-old was taken to Basingstoke hospital with serious injuries, but was later discharged.

Two teenagers were arrested following incident.

The other teenager, Jordan Way, 18, of no fixed abode has been charged with wounding with intent and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place.

The 18-year-old today appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today and has been remanded to appear at Winchester Crown Court on January 4, 2017.
