POLICE are investigating a fatal collision in West Sussex in which an Andover man died.
Officers from Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses or dash-cam footage of the collision between two lorries on the westbound carriageway of the A27 at Bosham, near Chichester on Thursday, October 13 at around 2.20pm.
The 55-year-old driver from Andover was in a Mercedes-Benz curtain-sided lorry which collided with a stationary Volvo skip loader before crashing into trees.
Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Volvo driver, a 44-year-old man from Hayling Island, Hampshire, sustained minor injuries for which he was treated at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
Sergeant Richard Hornsey, now leading the investigation, said: "We'd like to hear from anyone using that stretch of the A27 who saw the collision occur or who noticed a broken-down goods vehicle on the westbound carriageway.
"Witnesses, or anyone who has any dash-cam footage showing the stationary vehicle prior to the collision, are asked to contact the Sussex Serious Collision Investigation Unit at collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk."
Anyone with information can contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Anglican.
