Despite attempts to save her by paramedics, she was pronounced dead by the on-site doctor.

The death of the teenager, who was known as Livvy and was from Chesham in Buckinghamshire, is not being treated as suspicious but investigations are ongoing on behalf of the coroner.

A spokesman for Hampshire police said officers were “continuing to work closely with BoomTown organisers and witnesses and friends who were at the event are being supported”.

Livvy is the fourth person to have died during the seven-year history of the BoomTown Fair, held on the Matterley Estate.

Deborah Jeffery, 45, from Winchester, suffered a fatal heart attack after taking ecstasy in 2011.

Eighteen-year-old Ellie Rowe from Glastonbury in Somerset died in 2013 after taking the class C drug ketamine, which is more commonly used as a horse tranquiliser.

And in 2014 31-year-old Lisa Williamson, from Hereford, was found hanged in a toilet after taking drugs.

Police seized drugs worth £79,000 during this year’s event, with another £55,000 worth placed in amnesty bins, although senior officers said crime levels were down this year.

The total number of reported crimes at the festival, which was attended by 60,000 revellers, was 186 compared with 337 last year.

This year’s festival was also hit by a massive fire that destroyed dozens of cars in the festival car park.

The blaze, which the fire service says was “most likely” caused by a discarded cigarette, destroyed or damaged more than 80 vehicles, with a plume of black smoke visible from the site for miles around.

It led to the evacuation of a boutique camping area.

The four-day event featured performances by Madness, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Leftfield, Levellers and Damian Marley.
