A PRODUCT design company in Andover is in the process of making its way to Whitchurch later this year.

3form Design (3fD), based in Andover for 16 years, will move into the old Methodist Chapel in London Street this November.

The Chapel was originally built over 100 years ago in 1902 and used by Methodists until the 1960s.

It was sold and turned into a factory for bespoke clothes-maker, Turnbull and Asser, until they left in the mid-90s. 3fD’s senior partner, Austen Miller, eventually bought the building in 2013 after admiring it for many years.

Mr Miller said that the team was looking to expand but needed somewhere that matched their creativity.

He said: “We’re a growing company in a rather confined space so we’ve been waiting for a building with a bit of character.

“It’s an interesting building and we need a building which is as expressive as the individuals we have.”

The conversion has not been easy for the production design company.

A couple of years ago, a fire in the building next door set the whole project back due to the damage that was caused.

When workers took up the rotten flooring in December, planks were needed to walk across the ground due to the water content in the ground.

New flooring was not laid down until last Friday when 3fD’s team made a trip to the Chapel to check on progress.

However, 3fD say they received overwhelming support from people in Whitchurch since getting planning permission in 2014.

Mr Miller regularly takes the 3fD’s staff members down to see the project as it is one they have been able to design and benefit directly from.

He added: “I think it’s really exciting.”
