A STEAK and alcohol thief has been sentenced to ten weeks in prison after admitting to a theft spree across Andover to fund her drug habit.

Lisa Robinson, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to nine new alcohol theft offences and to breaching a community order for four earlier thefts when she appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court recently.

The 34-year-old admitted to stealing alcohol worth £72 from Marks and Spencer in Andover and alcohol to the value of £10 from Tesco in February.

Robinson also pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol from Waitrose on three occasions earlier this month worth at least £160 and to taking alcohol to the value of more than £200 from Atholl Court McColls on four occasions in January.

Magistrates issued Robinson with a community order in December which she admitted to breaching by failing to attend appointments as required.

The original order was made after she was convicted of stealing alcohol worth more than £200 from Marks and Spencer and Iceland in Andover and steaks valued at more than £50 from Waitrose.

The offences were deemed serious enough to impose a prison sentence because they were committed deliberately to fund her drug habit.

She was also ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
