TWO men have been collectively sentenced to more than five years in prison for burgling a garage.

Ross Pinnock, 29 from Bristol and Richard Andrew 29 from Warminster broke into Reeders Garage in Upavon in the early hours of 28 October 2015 and stole three vehicles.

One of the cars, a VW Golf, was spotted by officers travelling towards Westbury from the garage. The driver failed to stop for the officers and made off at speed.

The driver, Pinnock, was subsequently arrested after crashing the stolen vehicle into a building in Warminster. The investigation continued and further enquiries led to the arrest of Richard Andrews and recovery of the other two stolen vehicles.

Both men pleaded guilty to the offences and were sentenced at Swindon Crown Court.

Richard Andrews was sentenced to 32 months imprisonment for burglary and ordered to pay a Victim Surcharge of £120.
