POLICE are investigating after a man was robbed by two males in the early hours of Friday morning.

The 26-year-old was said to be walking on a footpath between Sutton Road and Scotney Road in the Oakridge area at around 12.30am on Friday 2 October.

Police say he was on his own and using a Motorola G mobile phone when he was approached by two unknown men walking in the opposite direction.

As the men walked passed they punched the victim in the back of the head, causing him to fall and suffer cuts to his chin.

The men then took his phone and ran off towards Queen Mary's Avenue.

The two men are described as white, aged between 20-30 years old, with one said to be around 5"10 tall and wearing square or rectangular glasses.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Tracy West said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in this area at the time.

"Did you see or hear anything that may assist in identifying these men?

"Have you or anyone you know recently been offered a black Motorola G mobile phone? Please call 101 quoting 44150341463.”
