FOUR golfers from around Andover will play 72 holes of golf on four courses in one day to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The challenge, called the longest day, will see the men tee-off at Andover Golf Course at 4.30am on Saturday morning, complete 18 holes, then to The Hampshire Club for another 18 and finally finishing up at Leckford to play both of their 18 hole courses.

Their plan is to finish around 9pm, by which time they expect to have walked around 25 miles.

The team is made up of Andrew Walker, 43, from Andover, a window installation engineer, Charles Taylor, 47, from Abbotts Ann, a music teacher at The Junction drop in centre, Paul Wilson, 39, from Andover, a plastic’s applications facilitator, and Ryan Soaper, 39, from Andover, a quality supervisor.

The men are supporting the charity in memory of Andy’s father in law who was cared for by Macmillan Nurse’s for the last months of his life in Andover.

All the clubs have let the men play without charge.
