Police are warning people in the Andover area not to engage with doorstep traders after a resident was approached by men offering to tarmac their drive with "leftovers".
At around 8pm last night, a Middle Wallop resident was targeted by a number of men claiming to be carrying out roadworks for the council.
They said that they were from National Road Networks Ltd and offered to tarmac the person's drive with "leftovers".
A small lorry and a black saloon car with yellow flashing lights were seen but police have no further information.
Hampshire Police are advising people that if they need a tradesman then go on the recommendation of friends and neighbours or visit the Hampshire Trading Standards website.
If you have any information about the incident or have similarly been approached by these men contact the police on 101.
