FOUR people have been arrested in connection with drugs offences by Andover Police as part of an ongoing operation.

Three women and a man were arrested at a property on Mylen Road last week in a targeted raid under Operation Calima to crack down on drugs offences and drugs related violence.

A quantity of class A drugs was seized during the search along with a sword and knife.

One of the females arrested is believed to be the resident of the property which was identified through a series of uniformed and plain clothes investigations.

Officers are also trying to prevent cuckooing, where drug dealers allow an individual to get into debt then use their property to deal from as repayment of that debt. Weapons will often be kept in the property to protect themselves and the drugs from rival dealers.

Sergeant Steve Parker from Andover Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you are prepared to house people who propose to deal in class A drugs, you must be prepared to take the consequences.”

The individuals have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
