THE family whose house was ravaged by fire in Longparish have lost virtually everything, according to a neighbour.
The Advertiser reported on Friday that a 13-year-old boy had to be treated for smoke inhalation following the blaze, which broke out on the ground floor of the North Acre home.
The entire property was damaged by the fire, with 20 per cent of the first floor and 100 per cent of the ground floor sustaining smoke damage, according to the fire service.
Four pumps were sent to deal with the incident with crews staying on the scene for over two hours.
A spokesman said a "13-year-old male was suffering from smoke inhalation but he was treated at the scene and did not need to go to hospital".
A neighbour said the family had lost "virtually everything" but had been touched by the kindness of friends and strangers since the incident.
