A YOUNG lad was treated for smoke inhalation earlier today after a fire tore through a house.

The blaze broke out on the ground floor of a home in North Acre, Longparish shortly before midday.

The entire property was damaged by the fire, with 20 per cent of the first floor and 100 per cent of the ground floor sustaining smoke damage, according to the fire service.

Four pumps were sent to deal with the incident with crews staying on the scene for over two hours.

A spokesman said a "13-year-old male was suffering from smoke inhalation but he was treated at the scene and did not need to go to hospital".
