A HOME-run glazing and window repair business has become the latest recipient of a small business incentive grant from civic chiefs.

Bosses at TW Glazing and Window Repairs, Wherwell, were handed £500 by Test Valley borough councillor Jim Neal.

Owners Trevor and Helen Whitelock, who set up the business in April, were on hand to accept the cheque. In 2013, Helen’s ill health caused the couple to rethink their lives, which led to the business starting up. Trevor has 16 years’ experience in the glazing trade and Helen has 20 years’ experience in administration, reception work and book-keeping.

The firm specialises in carrying out small glazing and repair work that larger companies would refuse to undertake, including replacing single or doubleglazed units into existing aluminium or wooden frames.

Trevor said: “We are extremely grateful to TVBC for this £500 award, which will allow us to pay for further advertising, and so hopefully survive our second six months.”

Cllr Jim Neal said: “I’m delighted to present this cheque to another small business within Test Valley.

It’s businesses like this that help to grow the economy.”

The business incentive grant is available to any small business starting up within Test Valley.
