RESIDENTS of world famous retirement home for exarmy personnel, the Chelsea Pensioners, tried their hand at badminton, sitting volleyball and giant jenga during a visit to Tidworth.

The Chelsea Pensioners took part in the actionpacked day of activities during a visit to the Heroes Recovery Centre at Tedworth House.

The group of veterans shared their army experiences and got to experience the vital role the centre plays in rehabilitating wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.

Centre manager Giles Woodhouse said: “Our residents were honoured to have the Chelsea Pensioners visit their centre and they relished the opportunity to play games with them and interact, sharing their various experiences.

“We recognise the enormous debt we owe to these men and their colleagues and it is wonderful to see that they were equally humbled to meet our heroes.”

Chelsea Pensioner Alan Lee, 92, added: “I’ve been to Tedworth House before and it just gets better.

“We get to see how Tedworth House is really helping our heroes and we learnt so much from our visit. I hope to come back again.”
