THE Mayor of Test Valley took a host of civic leaders under her wing for a visit to an Andover charity.

Councillor Jan Lovell headed a group of dignitaries from across the south who paid a special visit to the Hawk Conservancy Trust, in Weyhill.

The esteemed guests, who included the Mayor of Fareham Cllr David Norris, the Mayor of Winchester Cllr Eileen Berry, the Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Tony Noyce, the Deputy Mayor of Basingstoke Cllr Anne Court and the leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Cllr Ian Carr, were treated to an afternoon of guided tours, talks and a spectacular bird of prey flying demonstration.

The 11-strong civic group learned about the trust’s success, a popular visitor attraction and also heard about its work in education, conservation and rehabilitation in treating more than 200 sick, injured or orphaned raptors each year.
