IT’S almost time to hop on your skateboards and grab your bikes – Andover’s new urban sports facility is close to completion.
Specialist developers Maverick have been working on the new skate park in Smannell Road for the past few months, but the finishing line is now in sight.
Bosses at the firm believe the new site will be open by the end of this month, with an official opening lined up for November.
Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Cllr Ian Carr, said: “It has been my ambition to deliver a new concrete skate park for Andover for some time.
“It’s fantastic to see the facility taking shape and I’m really looking forward to the opening later this year.
“We are keen to encourage our communities to reach their full potential and promoting sport is absolutely key to that.”
