PEOPLE in Hampshire are being called to support their local clean-up action on 13 September by Let’s do it! UK.

Whether it’s tackling a local park, street, river, pond, woodland, or town, the event is designed to call attention to litter and show how much people care about where they live.

Let’s do it! began in Estonia in 2008 when 50,000 people came together to clean up their entire country – in one day.

Today, Let’s do it! is a global network of anti-litter campaigns that has taken place in over 100 countries, engaging over 10 million volunteers.

In Romania, 250,000 people took part in the clean-up day, while Slovenia inspired 289,000 to take action against litter.

Dr Luke Blazejewski, Let’s do it!

UK campaign coordinator, said: “We already have tens of cleanups registered for 13 September, taking place all over the country.”
