AN Andover business has been congratulated by the Conservative’s prospective parliamentary candidate for completing its biggest ever contract.

Kit Malthouse, the candidate for north-west Hampshire, visited Marston Robing as part of his drive to celebrate and support businesses in the constituency.

Marston has just completed its biggest ever contract, providing graduation gowns to Queen Mary’s University of London.

It marks nine years of growth and innovation by the company, which also provides all of the school graduation gowns in Hampshire.

John Martin, managing director and owner of Marston Robing, said: “Kit was interested in many different aspects of the business. From his questions and comments he is clearly familiar with running a business and the major issues involved.

“We covered everything from how we set our prices to the impact of business rates and I was very impressed with Kit’s attitude and desire to learn.

“We also talked about life and work in Andover and Test Valley, both of which are very positive in my view.”

Kit Malthouse added: “Marston Robing is exactly the kind of business that makes North West Hampshire so successful.

“Innovative and hardworking, John and his team have achieved great things and deserve all the support we can give them.

“As a business owner myself I know how hard life can be and what the Government needs to do so that more companies like this can grow and prosper in the area.”
