THE Pride of Andover Awards committee has announced that a new award will be added to the categories this year.

Nominations are now being taken for the Sue Sheppard Award, which is being sponsored by Stannah.

Sue was the former manager of Andover Vision and was well known in the Andover community for her work with the Jamie G Sporting Trust and as a governor at Anton Junior School.

Sue sadly died in April aged 44.

Barbara Long, of the Pride of Andover Awards committee, said: “We are grateful to Stannah, who are sponsoring this award in memory of Sue, who worked hard for the Andover community.

“Sue worked with Pride of Andover Awards from 2007 until 2012 and was known for her commitment to Andover, through Andover Vision, the Prince’s Trust and the Jamie G Sporting Trust.

Barbara added: “We are looking for nominations in connection to the following criteria: someone who against all the odds has turned round their lives and shown that with hard work, passion and belief anyone, despite their circumstances, can make a success of things.”

Nominations for the Sue Sheppard Award can be made on line at www.prideofandoveraw ards.org.uk/nominations by 12 September.
