A POST office could reopen in Shipton Bellinger.

Post Office Ltd has proposed reopening Parkhouse Stores, in Parkhouse Road, as an outreach service, meaning the postmaster from Barton Stacey Post Office will visit the community at set times each week.

The post office closed in the village in October last year after the former postmaster resigned.

The new service would include car tax and on-demand holiday money and would operate three times a week. The proposed times are 10am-2pm Tuesday and Wednesday, and 12pm-4pm on Thursday.

Rob Worley, Post Office field change adviser, said: “We are confident the hosted outreach service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”

There will be a six-week consultation on the plans.

Submissions can be emailed to comments@postoffice.co.uk or via customer helpline on 08457 223344 or textphone 08457 223355. There is also a questionnaire at postofficeviews.co.uk, branch code 322542.
